The Sounds Tour

Cruising through the tranquil waterways of the Marlborough Sounds aboard a spacious charter vessel, guests will enjoy informative commentary from the skipper and guide on the rich history of the area, including Kaipūpū Sanctuary, the region’s thriving seafood farms and the impressive homes tucked along the coastline. Along the way, soak up the ever-changing scenery of sheltered bays, native bush and secluded coves that make this part of New Zealand so special.

The tour includes a visit to the beautifully located Furneaux Lodge, nestled at the head of Endeavour Inlet and surrounded by native forest, rolling lawns and breathtaking sea views. Long regarded as one of the Marlborough Sounds’ most iconic waterfront destinations, Furneaux Lodge offers a peaceful retreat only accessible by boat or walking track.

Guests will enjoy a delicious two-course lunch in the lodge’s newly refurbished restaurant, reopening from 1 November, making this a rare opportunity to be amongst the first to experience the stunning new space. There will also be time to explore the spectacular grounds and enjoy one of the short walks available, including a visit to the area’s ancient 1000-year-old rimu tree.

The leisurely cruise home offers the perfect chance to unwind with a glass of wine and a taste of local seafood while taking in the spectacular scenery and relaxed atmosphere of the Marlborough Sounds.
