Jo Ensor, Tyntesfield Blooms
In 2024, Jo Ensor and her family relocated to one of the main homesteads on her husband’s family farm. Surrounded by well-established plants and generous garden space, Jo saw an opportunity to turn a long-held dream into reality. Driven by a passion for cut flowers and a desire to engage her mind after having children, she began her journey into flower farming. Today, the vibrant gardens and thriving blooms are a testament to Jo’s dedication, hard work and eye for beauty.
Kate Tomlinson, Blicks Blooms
Kate Tomlinson and her husband established Blicks Blooms in Renwick just two years ago, and since then the flower farm has quickly developed into an enchanting oasis. Kate says it all begins beneath the surface with healthy, living soil that lets their flowers grow wild, chemical-free and full of character.
Kelly Hammond, Fantail Fields
Fantail Fields is a seasonal cut flower farm in Spring Creek, Marlborough. First established in 2017, it now grows over 40 varieties of wildflowers, with blooms that shift and evolve beautifully throughout the season. With just two tunnel houses, the majority of flowers are cultivated outdoors in open beds, from the first signs of spring through to Mother’s Day in May, or until the first frost brings the growing season to a close.
Jane Robinson, Mayflower Studio Florist
Jane, owner of Mayflower Studio, is a lifelong florist and gardener with over 40 years of experience. Known for her creative flair and deep plant knowledge, she specialises in large-scale event and display design. Jane enjoys sharing floristry skills with others and, together with her team of eight, grows a wide variety of cut flowers for the studio. She also loves foraging for unique foliage and branches to add a natural, seasonal touch to her arrangements.
