Polly Markus leads an intriguing double life: known to some Aucklanders as a great local real estate agent, she has also gathered a fast-growing and devoted Instagram following of nearly 60,000, becoming a leading food influencer and the face behind the amazingly successful Miss Polly’s Kitchen.

Polly’s love of food began at a very young age, when she was often found by her parents in the kitchen dreaming up and consuming all sorts of creations. But Polly’s cooking career really began in Spain, where she cooked as a crew chef on

a superyacht in 2012, before working her way around Europe until 2015.

Returning to New Zealand, Polly launched her food-focused Instagram account during Auckland’s first lockdown in 2020, quickly attracting a large foodie following. At the heart of Polly’s success is her love and infectious passion for sharing recipes and engaging with people online and through in- person demonstrations and speaking opportunities, bringing cheer to every kitchen. Polly’s very successful first cookbook – the bestselling Miss Polly’s Kitchen – was launched in August 2022.

In her real estate and cooking careers, Polly now works with some prominent international and local brands, such as Nespresso, Kenwood, Sanford & Sons, and Farro Fresh.
