Do you want to capture that perfect digital photo of an intense bloom or a memorable moment from your garden visit? Would you love to feel more confident using the camera settings on your smartphone? With a little expert guidance, your photos can go from drab to fab.

Returning after selling out last year, this popular hands-on workshop is led by talented fine art photographer and lecturer Helen McLeod.

Designed to help you take inspiring photos on your smartphone, Helen will cover composition, different ways of seeing the natural world, and how to add your own creative style using built-in phone features. She will also introduce the free editing app Snapseed (for both Android and Apple), showing you how to enhance your images and bring them to life.

Digital photography is also a powerful tool for recording information – whether tracking seasonal change in the garden, creating a visual diary or documenting practical garden work such as irrigation and drainage.

Helen is a highly experienced photography tutor, holding a Fellowship with the Photographic Society of NZ, an Associateship with the Royal Photographic Society and a Gold Portfolio Distinction with the Photographic Society of America. She is known for her clear, accessible teaching style and her ability to make technical skills easy to understand.
