Key features: Half-day tour of town and country gardens near well known Marlborough waterways, with clever landscaping including beautiful courtyards, striking water features, and inspiring plantings.

HORTENSIA HOUSE
Huguette Michel-Fleurie

This romantic garden of massed flowers in hazy pastels is bisected by the astonishing Spring Creek, its bridge inspired by Claude Monet’s garden at Giverny. 150 different varieties of hydrangea – known as ‘Hortensia’ in France – fill the garden’s shady areas and are as colourful as Huguette herself.

WESTGROVE
Pat Jones

Designed and created by Pat from bare farmland, Westgrove, now a mature home garden and vineyard, is a property that keeps on giving. Changes and additions over the years include stunning cloud pruning and an elegant formal courtyard.

This garden also features on the Hills and Plains tour (Saturday only)

THE GARDEN OF
Chris Fletcher

An urban courtyard garden overlooking the Taylor River Reserve, with views of the Richmond ranges and the Wither Hills. The garden features topiary, hedging, maples, hostas, vegepods, and a small woodland area.
